Lena Mae Clay, 91, of South Pittsburg, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 25. On December 7, 1932, she was born to the late John Cothron and Emma Lee Mayes Cothron. Lena was a member of Primitive Baptist Church in South Pittsburg. She enjoyed doing a small garden, flowers and had a great sense of humor, she never met a stranger. Lena loved blues music, BB King, cooking, spending time with her family and her God sons.
Lena is preceded in death by her parents; sons, Charles Foster Martin, Tommy Clay; daughter, Linda Martin; brothers, Hugh Cothron, Frank Cothron, Lee Cothron, Grady Cothron, Lawrence Cothron, John Cothron; sisters, Lula Blair, Matilda Fox, Louise Ellison, Ida Ruth Ford, Juanita Fennell, Stella Cothron and Sally Cothron.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Ronnie (Carolyn) Martin, Ricky Martin, John Lee (Cindy) Cobb; daughters, Mary Stephens, Becky Clay; grandchildren Raquel (Donnie) Smith, Shawn (Scharlyn) Martin, Shenia Martin, Katrina Bridges, Delorah Starkey, Shaunte McCamey, Nikki Clay, Levon Currington, David Moore; 5 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, other family members and special friends.
Visitation is Sunday, November 3, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.
Funeral services are on Sunday, November 3, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper with Pastor Anthony Martin officiating.
