Larry Vernon Haggard, 72, of Jasper, was called home on February 18. On October 27, 1952, he was born to the late Joseph Vernon Haggard, Sr. and Mary Kirk Haggard. Larry was married to Joyce Wooten for 55 years and owned his own tree service. He loved camping, fishing, watching racing, and working on cars. Larry also loved doing tree work. He loved spending time with his family and welded special gifts for them throughout the years.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents; son, Ricky Lee Haggard; and daughter-in-law, Paula Sexton.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Joyce Wooten Haggard; son, Kenny Haggard; daughter, Vickie (Randy) Flood; brothers, Johnny Haggard, Joseph (Wilma) Haggard, Jody (Thess) Fann; sisters, Betty (Ronnie) Lancaster, Barbara (Earl) Blevins, Peggy Taylor, Connie Haggard; grandchildren, Lynn Flood, Isaac Flood, Brooke Haggard, Abbie Haggard, Billy, Craig, Josh, and Rebecca Talley; 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.
Visitation is Thursday, February 20, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday, February 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.
Funeral services are on Friday, February 21, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper with Pastor Randy Flood officiating.
Larry will be laid to rest on Friday, February 21, at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens immediately following the funeral service.
Pallbearers are Lynn Flood, Isaac Flood, Billy Talley, Josh Talley, Fred Allison, Eddie Allison and Johnny Sharp.
