Larry “Pops” Levan Sr., 73, of Sequatchie, Tennessee was called home on March 16. Larry was born on October 30, 1951, to the late Victor Levan and Hester Bass Levan in Bridgeport, Alabama. He was married to Clara Reed Levan for 48 years and worked for Sequatchie Handle Factory. Larry was an avid pro wrestling fan, with his favorite wrestler being Roman Reins. He was a very good and loving father and husband and had a big heart. Larry enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and friends and was the jokester of the family.
Larry is preceded in death by his father Victor Levan, mother Hester Bass Levan, brothers J. T. Levan, Dale Levan, sisters Ozzella Shelton, Sara Jane Brown, Barbara Cartwright and Gail Harveston.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife Clara Reed Levan, sons Robert (April Millard) Simmons, Larry (Candy) Levan Jr., Victor Levan, brother Sammy (Alvina) Levan, daughters Chasity (Zack Cooley) Simmons, Heather (Antonio Stuckey) Simmons, grandchildren Jimmy Jones, Brittany Griffith, Barbie Anderson, Dustin Morrow, Holly Morrow, several great grandchildren, with Madison, Aidan, and Serenity spending a lot of time with their great grandparents, nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 21, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.
Funeral services were also held on Friday, March 21 at 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home with Brother Victor Levan and Pastor Jason Brooks officiating.
