Kermit “Bruce” Brooks, 61

Kermit “Bruce” Brooks, 61, of South Pittsburg, TN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 with his loving family by his side.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kermit Brooks Jr., who he loved dearly and is without a doubt alongside now watching over his family.

Bruce was born on November 9th, 1961, to Ina and Kermit Brooks Junior in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. Bruce was a selfless, loving, and kind man who will be remembered by the lives he touched. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love for those who went before him. He will be missed dearly.

Bruce retired from Arcade Printing Company after working tirelessly all the years of his life to ensure he was a wonderful provider for his family.

Bruce loved to spend time with his family, hunt, fish, and he truly cherished precious moments with loved ones watching sports (Go Vols!).

Bruce is survived by his mother, Ina Brooks; his brother, Barry Brooks (Tammy); two sons, Canan Brooks (Mallory), Christopher Brooks (Jasmyn); two stepchildren, B.J. and Andrew Rogers; six grandchildren, Penelope, Piper, Phoebe, Abby, Bella, Ina, and Waylon Brooks; two nieces, Wendy Wolf (Josh) and Elizabeth Brooks; three great-niece an nephews, Kaylea Grace (Cole) and Brooks and Brady.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 6, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. (CDT) in the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Nunley officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, October 6, 2023, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (CDT) prior to the funeral service in the chapel.

Mr. Brooks will be laid to rest at Bean-Roulston Cemetery in Sweeden’s Cove.

The pallbearers will be Canan Brooks, Brooks Gudger, Brady Gudger, Brent Moss, Keith Moss, Travis Harris.

Honorary Pallbearer are B.J. Rogers & Andrew Rogers.
