Katherine Coffelt Shoemaker, 78, of Chatsworth, GA, formerly of Jasper, TN, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 5.
Katherine was a wife, mother, sister, nana, aunt, and friend. Her and her husband, Sonny, enjoyed each other’s company most during adventures of traveling and camping together. After his passing, she still enjoyed getting outside for long walks, especially with her sweet dog, Gracie. Katherine loved to keep memories alive through her many photographs that were always on display. She was so incredibly proud of her family and would tell each picture’s story with a smile to anyone who would listen. Her infectious smile will truly be missed.
Katherine is preceded in death by her father, Carl Coffelt; mother, Rosie Coffelt; husband, Lindsey “Sonny” Shoemaker; son, Timothy Shoemaker; and sister, Linda Buckles. She is survived by her son, Don (Pam) Shoemaker; grandson, Shane (Miana) Shoemaker; sisters, Carolyn “Susie” (Larry) Carpenter, Barbara Coffelt Jangdharrie, and Sandra Hughes; brother, Wayne (Michelle) Coffelt; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, at 12 p.m. at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jasper with Pastor Roger Webb officiating. Pallbearers will be Don Shoemaker, Shane Shoemaker, Wayne Coffelt, Dan Dunn, Keith Coker, and Bill Morgan.
