Just One More, a nonprofit organization based in South Pittsburg, is dedicated to helping individuals and businesses overcome hardships and struggles.
Founded by Richard Rogers, Chairman of U.S. Stove, the Just One More Foundation provides financial assistance to individuals and partner organizations that share its mission of helping those in need. Rogers, whose family has deep roots in the community, was inspired to start the foundation by two life-changing experiences: a book project he worked on with his family during the COVID-19 pandemic and a near-fatal lightning strike.
In November 1995, while on a hunting trip with his longtime friend Mike Barry, Rogers was struck by lightning. The incident left him burned and nearly cost him his life. While recovering in the hospital, he prayed and made a promise that if he survived, he would dedicate his life to helping others.
Years later, in 2020—during both the height of the pandemic and U.S. Stove’s 150th anniversary—Rogers and his family collaborated on the book Resilience, Tragedy & Tenacity: 150 Years of the U.S. Stove Story & the Family of S.L. Rogers Sr. The book chronicles the struggles and achievements of S.L. Rogers Sr., who worked tirelessly to provide for his family, his company, and the South Pittsburg community. Writing the book reminded Rogers of the promise he had made years earlier, inspiring him to establish the Just One More Foundation.
“I realized 20-something years ago that I made a promise, and I wanted to deliver on it. So, I started the Just One More Foundation,” Rogers said.
He explained that he wanted the organization to help people facing difficult situations—just as he once did—while promoting the values of hard work, grit, and integrity. The foundation provides grants to individuals and businesses in need, helping them regain stability and thrive. Whether someone is struggling with a medical crisis or financial hardships while running a business, Just One More offers the extra support they need to move forward.
Since its founding, the organization has helped numerous individuals and businesses throughout the county. During the interview, Rogers and other key members were in discussions with Madison Hensley, owner of Top Tier Tumbling and Cheer, about providing a $5,000 grant to support the cheerleading team’s participation in this year’s Cheerleading Worlds competition. The organization later approved and awarded the grant to the local gym.
Just One More operates out of The Hooch, a local event venue in South Pittsburg that serves as its headquarters. Looking ahead, Rogers and his team hope to expand the foundation’s reach across the U.S., continuing their mission to support struggling individuals and businesses.
