Joyce Ann Haggard, 82

Joyce Ann Haggard, 82 of Jasper was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 25.  On February 7, 1943, she was born to the late Claude Wooten and Mary Ruth McElhaney Wooten in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.  Joyce worked for Shaw Carpet Mills before she retired.  Ms. Joyce was a hard-working woman, for she also picked cotton and beans for other farmers.  She was always good to everyone.  Joyce loved 55 Chevrolet’s, sewing, shopping, going on vacations, especially to the Smoky Mountains, and on a cruise with Larry.  She loved spending time with her family, and everyone knew her as NaNa.

Joyce is preceded in death by her father Claude Wooten, mother Mary Ruth McElnaney, husband Larry Haggard, son Ricky Lee Haggard, daughter-in-law Paula Sexton, brothers Brady Wooten, Bill Wooten; sisters, Lois Cronnon, and Ruth Bearden.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Vickie (Randy) Flood, son Kenny Haggard, brothers Charlie Wooten and Don Wooten, sisters Cricket Holtzclaw and Sue Holcomb, grandchildren Lynn (Tanya) Flood, Isaac (Emarie) Flood, Brooke Haggard, Abbie Haggard, Billy, Craig, and Josh and Rebecca Talley, great grandchildren Chloe, Bailey and Aubrey Flood and Bodhi, several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.

Visitation was on Saturday, September 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Sunday, September 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.

Funeral services were also on Sunday, September 28 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, with Pastor Randy Flood who officiated.

Joyce was laid to rest on Sunday, September 28 at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper immediately after the funeral service was held.

Pallbearers were Lynn Flood, Isaac Flood, Billy Talley, Josh Talley, Delaney Connor and John Campbell.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Tate Funeral Home, LLC, 950 Mel Dixon Lane, Jasper, Tennessee 37347, 423-942-9500.
