I, Jimmy P. Haley Jr announce my candidacy for District 1 Commissioner in the City of South Pittsburg. I am married to my wife Diana, and are raising our two grandchildren Serenity and Zoei. We reside at 201 Holly Ave. I was born and raised in this town, and have seen the ups and downs that have occurred. I want our children to have opportunities, and places to go. I have previously served as District 1 Commissioner from 2016-2020. I know what it takes to get things done, and see some things that need to be addressed. I have always listened to people and relayed their concerns to the board. During my tenure as City Commissioner, we cleaned up several overgrown lots, helped alleviate flooding, and worked alongside City personnel. I am not afraid of work. Also alleviated flooding in Sweetens Cove and on Raulstontown Rd. My door has always been open, and my phone is also answered. I look at this position as being a servant of the people. If elected I promise to continue to clean up overgrown lots, try and create opportunities for our youth, and bring businesses and jobs to our town. I would greatly appreciate your vote in November.
