Jimmy “Bones” Dewayne Smith, 55, of Whiteside was called home on Friday, February 23.
On July 3, 1968, he was born to the late Thomas Glenn Smith and Gail Caylor Isbell. Jimmy worked for Berry Hutton Construction Company and was of the Baptist faith. He was a very hard worker and enjoyed football, loved Nascar and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jimmy is preceded in death by his father and brother, Terry Smith.
Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Gale Caylor Isbell; daughters, Ashley Campbell, Cariena Smith (Jackie); brother, Jerry Smith (Misty); grandchildren, Brentley, Jaxxn, Carliee, Jaycee Perry, Kenley Wilson; best friends, Chasity Perry, Angela Simpson; several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, February 27, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, February 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper. Funeral services followed at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper with Pastor Roger Webb officiating. Jimmy was laid to rest on Wednesday, February 28, at Gilliam Cemetery in South Pittsburg, (Battle Creek) immediately following the funeral service. Pallbearers are Steve Mines, Jackie Perry, Charles Ables and Randy Hunter.
