Jesse “Richard” Pace, Jr., age 60, of South Pittsburg, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 21, 2023. He was in the presence of his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Richard was a fighter and had a desire to live. He fought through a lung disease – surviving a double lung transplant with the help of God, the donor, Cleveland Clinic, and the support of his wife, family, friends, and strangers who supported through prayers, donations, and encouragement.

Richard was born in 1963 in Jackson, Kentucky, to Jesse Richard, Sr., and Ruth (Braden) Pace, who preceded him in death along with many other relatives. He was known for his huge smile, sense of humor, admirable work ethics, dance moves, exceptional singing voice, and love for the Bama team. It was said that he pulled some major strings to gain the win for his team on Saturday against Tennessee.

He met the love of his life, Pam (Jones) Pace, 2 1/2 years ago. They fell in love instantly, married, and created a beautiful life by filling every moment they could with memories of love, laughter, and early morning dancing in the kitchen. He loved his daughters, Jennifer  Shahan, Caitlin Grider, and Meghan Spears and was richly blessed to gain a bonus son, Tyler (Jade) Phillips, and a bonus daughter, Megan (Clay) McHone. He adored his incredible grandchildren, Elizabeth Howell, Zeklan Shahan, and Gunner McHone, who knew him as Pawpaw and Pops.

Survived by his wife, Pam Pace, sister, Tina  (Steve) Clements; brother, Jesse Alan (Edis) Pace; in-laws, Jim (Lucy) Jones, Craig (Debbie) Jones, and Angela (Rickey) Payne, along with his aunt, Mary (Top) Murray, Uncle, Roy Pace, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His family will greatly miss him.

Richard left us with one more Roll Tide, and you will see it at the celebration service.
