Jerry Allen Smith, 58, of Statham, Georgia was called home on Thursday, November 28. He was born and raised in Marion County and lived in Statham, Georgia. He was born to Thomas Glenn Smith and Nancy Gail Caylor. Jerry always spoke his mind and liked things done right, which was his way. He was never angry when speaking but very passionate. He loved God, his family, and work. For many years he traveled the country and got to see many places. He loved Tennessee the most though.
He was preceded in death by his father; his twin brother, Terry Anthony Smith, and younger brother, Jimmy Dewayne Smith.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 26 years, Misti Dawn Smith; daughter, Shelby Dawn Smith; son, Jerry Allen Smith, Jr.; sisters, Kathy Frizzell and Sierra (Benjamin Woodard) Hicks; brother, Galen Isbell; and his very special Aunt, Wanda Ables; many close family members and friends.
Visitation was Saturday, December 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.
Funeral services were Saturday, December 7, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper with Pastor Tony Tuders officiating. Jerry was laid to rest on Saturday, December 7, at Gilliam Cemetery in South Pittsburg (Battle Creek) immediately following the funeral service.
Pallbearers are Phil Smith, Rob Koehler, Donald Ables, T. J. Hargis, Wayne Stroud and Mark Koehler.
