Jasper’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen has officially acquired full ownership of Jasper Middle School’s pump station, which is connected to the town’s force main sewer line.

Mayor Jason Turner, while introducing the agenda item, explained that Jasper Middle School had maintained ownership of the pump station for the past year. This arrangement was necessary for the school to receive warranty coverage. With the warranty period nearing its end, the school approached Turner with a request for the city to take over ownership of the station.

Turner noted that the station had already been inspected by city water personnel and confirmed to meet all municipal specifications.

Alderman Jim Fowler made the initial motion to approve the transfer of ownership, with Vice Mayor Les Price seconding the motion. The full board then unanimously approved the acquisition.
