
Jamie “Margaret” Park, 86 died peacefully in her sleep at Serenity on the Farm in South Pittsburg early Wednesday morning on December 3.
Originally from Whitwell, Margaret was the youngest daughter of Linnie Ferguson Park of Jasper and Zollie James Park of Cleveland, Tennessee.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Charlotte Park Bailiff and Mildred Ann Park Boyd of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
As a graduate of the University of Chattanooga, Margaret had a long and wonderful career in public service. Beginning in Chattanooga with heading up the Girl Scouts of America and retiring from the State of Georgia as the Head of the Women Infants and Children (*WIC) Program, as well as Executive Director of Georgia Public Health Association in Atlanta, Georgia.
She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, friends in Luthersville, Geogria and LaGrange, Georgia, in addition to her cat Sally.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, December 7 at 4 p.m. at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home, with Pastor Ronnie Case who officiated.
Visitation was also held on Sunday, December 7 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. prior to the memorial service within the chapel.
