James Harold “Jim” Price, 77

James Harold “Jim” Price, age 77, of Jasper, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 3, 1948, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Albert Wade and Mary Ethel Price.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Lois Ann Baker.

Jim enjoyed trout fishing in the Tellico River, cheering on the Tennessee Vols and Marion County Warriors, and being a supportive and caring Bawbaw, as he was affectionately known, to his grandchildren. Jim was proud to have retired from both the United States Air Force and the U.S. Postal Service. He also loved subbing at Marion County High School.

Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doris Price, his daughters, Amanda (Jacob) Dawson and Jamie (Shane) Thomasson, and six grandchildren, Pressley (Taylor) Lawson, Jake Dawson, Sophia Dawson, and Brody, Brynna, and Brylee Thomasson; sister-in-law, Becky (Ronnie) Parker, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving dog and companion, Maggie, and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home, 21 East Fifth Street, Jasper, on Saturday, February 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service in the chapel at 2 p.m. with Pastor Thomas Long officiating. Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jasper with Military Honors conducted by Sequatchie Valley Veterans Honor Guard.

Pallbearers include Jacob and Jake Dawson, Shane and Brody Thomasson, Taylor Lawson, and Nicholas and Jonathan Parker.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the MCHS Interact Club in Jim’s name at 160 Ridley Drive, Jasper, Tennessee, 37347.
