James E. Rector, 75

James E. Rector, 75, of Jasper, Tennessee was called home on March 12.  He was born to the late George Rector and Frances Sampley Rector on August 8, 1948.  James graduated from Marion County High School in the class of 1966.  He was married to Linda Barnes Rector for fifty-four years.  James worked and retired from TVA at Widow’s Creek as a Machinist at the “Ball Mill” for thirty plus years.  He lived his whole life in Jasper, Tennessee.  James loved old cars, the History Channel, arguing about Fox News and he loved his children and grandchildren very much.  He was known by many names, such as, James, Jimmy, Jim, “Big Jim”, Uncle Jimmy, daddy and his favorite, “Papa.

James is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memories are his wife; daughters, Jamie Rector, Cindy (Jay) Bray; brother, Robert Rector; sister, Wanda (Jerry) Knoll; grandchildren, Sara ReAnn Bray, James Jacob Bray, Shane Tyler Bray, several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee. There was a graveside service on Monday, March 18, at Orme Cemetery in South Pittsburg, Tennessee at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Roger Webb officiating. Pallbearers are Mike Fuller, Jake Bray, Shane Bray, Tim Allison, Jay Bray, Blake Cooper and Ethan Hubbard.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Tate Funeral Home, LLC, 950 Mel Dixon Lane, Jasper, Tennessee, 423-942-9500.
