James Donald McCurry, Jr., 62, of South Pittsburg, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 27. On March 1, 1962, James was born to the late James Donald McCurry, Sr. and Patsy Reynolds McCurry. He was a member of Kimball Tabernacle of Praise. James worked for Lodge Manufacturing and was a member of The Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Copperheads. He was a big civil war collector and also did reenactments. James was a huge fan of Marion County football and helped the coaches during games and practices.
James is preceded in death by his father, James Donald McCurry, Sr., and mother, Patsy Reynolds McCurry.
Left to cherish his memories are his brothers, Allen McCurry, Charles McCurry, Glen (Krissie) McCurry; nieces and nephews, Crystal Rector, Shawn White, Treshawn White, Alissa Parrish; Aunt, Gracie Johnson; several other family members and special friends.
Visitation is Sunday, March 2, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Monday, March 3, from Noon to 2 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.
There will be a graveside service on Monday, March 3, at 2 p.m. at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper with Pastor Aaron Cagle officiating. Pallbearers are members of the Copperheads.
