James Dallas McNabb “J.D.”, passed away on November 21, at the age of 86. He went to be with his loving wife of 63 years, as he has spent the last few years of his life wanting only that.
J.D. was well known for running his fireworks store for around 45 years. He loved to coon hunt and was also a fisherman, spending many days “Going to the river”. J.D. loved his family so much and was forever doing something for somebody.
J.D. is preceded in death by his wife, Gladys “Sissy” McNabb; father, Raymond Kelly McNabb; mother, Nannie Mitchell McNabb; daughter, Leta McNabb Brown; son, James McNabb, Jr. “Sam”; brother, Ray McNabb and granddaughter, Brandie Forshee.
Those left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Andrea Gholston, grandchildren, Jackie (Cariena) Perry, Jessica (Chris) Slatton, Timothy (Hannah) Forshee, Jacob (Britney) Forshee, Sheena Gholston Havner, and Jada (Jonathan) Belk, and a whole host of great and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation is Saturday, November 23, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday, November 24, from 10 a.m. to Noon at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper. Funeral services are on Sunday, November 24, at Noon in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper with Pastor Mike Williams officiating.
James will be laid to rest on Sunday, November 24 at McNabb Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee immediately following the funeral service. Pallbearers are Jackie Perry, Timothy Forshee, Jacob Forshee, Hunter Forshee, Waylon Forshee, Colton Slatton and James Durham.
