James C. Davis, “Bodidly,” 77, of Chattanooga, Tennessee passed away at home surrounded by his wife and loving family on Wednesday, November 20.
He was the son of the late Norman C. Davis and Vivian Hogwood Davis of South Pittsburg.
Jim graduated from South Pittsburg High School, where he loved playing football for the Pirates. He attended MTSU. Jim was an information systems analyst at Companies including Healthsource, Cigna and Unum when he retired. In his spare time, Jim loved being with his family. He also loved fishing. Friday nights, watching the South Pittsburg Pirates play.
He was preceded in death by sister, Shelia Janeway and brother, David Higdon.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Kathy Townsend Davis; children, Dionna Leamon (Todd), Shane Davis (Beth), Becky Pool-Blair (Dave) and Jamie Sanford; three grandchildren, Alexis, Sophia and Chase.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 26, at 1:30 p.m. CST in the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Berry officiating. Mr. Davis will be laid to rest at Tate Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (CST) prior to the funeral service in the South Pittsburg Funeral Home chapel. Pallbearers will be Jeff Weathers, Josh Janeway, Billy Case, Dean Williams, Dab Grutcher and George Hampton. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Brewer, Don Smart, and Rusty Adcock.
