Jacqueline “Jackie” Louise Walker, 67 of South Pittsburg was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 23. On May 19, 1958, she was born to the late Wendell P. Spencer and Margaret Pryor Spencer in Bridgeport, Alabama. Jackie was a member of Mt. Bethlehem Baptist Church and worked in child care for ABC Children’s for more than 40 years before retiring. She was a family person who loved being with her family and community. Jackie gave so much of herself to everyone. She loved to cook and bake, for she was also well known for her cakes. Jackie loved her church family very much and they loved her the same.
Jackie is preceded in death by her father Wendell P. Spencer, mother Margaret Pryor Spencer, brother Russell L. Walker and granddaughter Remington Jade Walker.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons Randell (Courtney) Walker, Justin (Victoria) Walker, Kavin and Kyree Walker, daughter Joslyn “Katie” Walker, sister Sonya Walker McShan, sister-in-law Katherine Walker, eight grandchildren, as well as several other family members and special friends.
Visitation was on Friday, September 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, September 27 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.
Funeral services were also on Saturday, September 27at 12 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, with Pastor Lamar Jenkins who officiated.
Jackie was laid to rest on Saturday, September 27 at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper immediately after the funeral services were held.
Pallbearers were Malcom McCain, Kevin Mitchell, Lee Slaughter, Billy Hurd and Todd Jackson.
