Hilda Kathleen “Katy” Keef Gouger, 81

Hilda Kathleen “Katy” Keef Gouger, 81, of Whiteside passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was a member of Whiteside United Methodist Church.

Katy was born in Whiteside on Oct. 28, 1941.  She was a 1960 graduate of Marion County High School and married her husband, Bobby, shortly after.  She spent her life taking care of her children, grandchildren, and anyone else in need.  She was a Sunday School teacher for over 30 years and loved to read, play games, bake, and garden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Bobby” Amon Gouger; son, Thomas Wayne Gouger; parents Harry and Cecil Keef; and sister, Mildred Rankin.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Mark (Lisa) Gouger; daughter, Amy Jo Gouger; grandchildren Jillian (John) Watts, Adam (Keylee) Gouger, Matthew Gouger, Daniel Gouger, and Travis (Rachel) Andes; sisters Wilma Keef Lowrey and Glenda Keef Holland; brothers, Donald (Rowena) Keef, and Jerre Keef; brother-in-law Billy (Martha) Gouger and many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services were held Sept. 3 in the Jasper chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Stuart officiating. Ms. Gouger was laid to rest at the Hooker Cemetery in Wildwood, GA.
