Helen Fannelle Clay, 92, of South Pittsburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15 at a local hospital.
Helen was born to the late Harvey Penn Clay and Fannie Ella Tanner Clay on March 6, 1932.
Helen was a member of the South Pittsburg Primitive Baptist Church. She was a member of several community organizations, Historical Preservation Society, Community Singers, Lioness Club, American Businesswomen’s Association, Eastern Star, and Ladies Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harvey B. (Doris), W. Fredrick (Elizabeth) Clay, Creston (Sue) Clay and nephews, Donald B. Clay and Brian Hawkins.
Survivors include her nieces, Lori Clay Hawkins, Edna (Charles) Reinike; nephews, Kenneth D. (Amber) Clay, Lance T. (Mary Lou) Clay, Jeff B. Clay and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 18 at 1 p.m. in the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Moore officiating. Helen will be laid to rest in the Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jasper.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service at Rogers Funeral Home, South Pittsburg chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Rogers Funeral Home, 400 Laurel Ave, South Pittsburg, Tennessee (423) 837-7176.
