Alderwoman Lofty presented a recommendation from the park board to the Kimball Mayor and Alderman board to apply for the Healthcare Resiliency Program grant.
She explained that the grant is designed to improve access to healthcare within the community and support efforts to promote healthier lifestyles. She credited Alderman Matthew’s wife for initially bringing the grant to their attention and noted that, after further discussion, it was deemed highly beneficial for the town.
Alderwoman Lofty shared that although the original application deadline was in September, it had been postponed to October. The park board would begin the application process in October, with a decision of approval or denial expected by February.
Alderman Matthews inquired about the intended use of the grant, to which Alderwoman Lofty responded that plans were still being developed. She added that the grant has no funding limit and doesn’t require matching funds. The park director would handle the grant application, with final figures expected closer to October.
After discussing the proposal, the board unanimously approved moving forward with the application process.
