Greg’s Restaurant now open for business

The town of South Pittsburg has recently welcomed Greg’s Restaurant with open arms to its the community.

The restaurant, originally out of Lafayette, Ga., serves as the business’s secondary location, opening where Richard City Café once stood on South Cedar Avenue. Greg Cornelius, the business’s owner, explained the restaurant specializes in a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes, ensuring to provide customers with a range of foods to choose from during morning and afternoon hours.

“We use homemade sausage, we make our own gravy from scratch, we bread our own chicken fingers, and we make our own hamburgers,” explained Cornelius. “And we’re also famous for our Amaretto pie.”

Cornelius explained how he was drawn into the restaurant industry since as a child, over time building up experience within the field and developing a passion for the industry.

“I’ve always liked the restaurant business,” said Cornelius. “It’s done well for me.”

Upon acquiring the restaurant’s location in the community, Cornelius has received positive feedback from residents of South Pittsburg, particularly on social media when announcing the restaurant’s newest location. Cornelius explained while updates and renovations were abound with the building, it nonetheless didn’t stop him from ensuring the restaurant’s grand opening was met within the community.

“It took a little while longer than anticipated, but we had a lot of people keep up with us on Facebook, and I kept them posted on there,” said Cornelius.

Greg’s Restaurant is located on 1855 South Cedar Avenue in South Pittsburg and is open seven days a week. Food items range from burgers and catfish, to cinnamon rolls and classic breakfast items, all coming together to provide a new establishment within the community.
