Jasper’s Board of Mayor & Aldermen (BoMA) have appointed two new members to the planning commission following the vacancy of two seats.
During the city’s March meeting, Mayor Jason Turner brought to the council’s attention of two vacant positions within the planning commission, with two potential candidates already in mind on who could fill both roles. The first candidate mentioned was John Graham, who Turner expressed excitement as to appointing into the planning commission.
“Mr. John Graham got recommended to us and we would love to have him on our board,” Turner said.
Alongside Graham, Jasper’s Street Superintendent and Park Director Justin Baker was also recommended for consideration into the planning commission. The recommendation was made during a work session prior to the meeting.
All members of the council agreed to appoint Graham and Baker into the city’s planning commission, both now serving as the commission’s newest elected officials.
