Georgia Tate, 93, of Battle Creek passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023.

She was a member of the St John Episcopal Church in Ladd’s Cove. Her favorite thing in life was taking care of her family and any child that needed love. Her home was always a place where all were welcome. Her final wishes are to be remembered not in sadness and tears but in love, laughter, and happiness. Remember yesterday, today and yes, tomorrow.  She said to remember she will be waiting with love when the time comes. While most of her life she was a homemaker she did work for many years at South Pittsburg Elementary as a clerk.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kirby Tate; son, MK Tate; daughter, Jane Tate; Parents, Florence Russell and John A Haggard; Grandmother, Georgia Russell; sister, Polly Tate; brother, John D Haggard; Nephews Martin Tate and Clayton Tate.

She is survived by her grandson, Daniel Tate (Kelly); great grandchildren, Trey Hill (Makalee), Brittany Slatton (Wade) and Carly Phillips; great great grandchildren, Maverick Slatton, Camille Slatton and Saylor Hill; niece Phyllis Tate Goff; nephews, Clinton Tate and Grant Lappin and many special friends.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) in the South Pittsburg chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with The Reverend Isaac Blevins officiating.

Ms. Georgia will be laid to rest at Ladd’s Cove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. (CDT) and on Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. (CDT) prior to funeral service in the chapel at Rogers Funeral Home of South Pittsburg, TN.

Pallbearers – Sean Dunwoody, Lucas Lloyd, Gil Burton, John Ladd, Trey Hill, Mike Smith Honorary Pallbearers – Grant Lappin, Mike Cardin, Terry Cardin, Steve Tate and Clinton Tate.
