George Powell 84, passed away on Friday, February 16, peacefully at home. George was born on October 19, 1939, in Whitwell, to Henry and Bula Powell. He lived in Rising Sun, MD, for many years and had moved two years ago from West Virginia to Florida to be with family.
George had a long career with General Motors and really enjoyed yard sales and finding unique treasures.
George is preceded in death by his wife, Emily Katherine Powell and his son, George Henry Powell.
George is survived by his four daughters, Cheryl Powers (Gary) from Peach Bottom, PA., Deborah Nichols (Frank) from Holt, Florida, Annette Fritz and Lisa Davis, his sister, Claire Louise Nolan, sixteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
