At the recent Kimball town meeting on January 4, Adam Goodman, the new manager for Kimball’s highly anticipated Food City spoke during the public comments to update the public and extend an open invitation for two opening events.

The store will host an open house February 6 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. which will be open to the public. The following day, Food City officially opens, February 7, at 8 a.m.

“Thank you for welcoming us to your community and we look forward to doing a lot of good things in the community.” Goodman stated. He further described the long road of the last 11 months that he has been monitoring the Kimball location’s progress while managing and visiting other locations in Winchester and Albertville, AL. During this timeframe he reported that 276 interviews over a four day period were conducted. Pending successful completion of orientation, 176 people will be employed at the new location.

Goodman humorously acknowledged the anticipation for Starbucks, which will employ 20 out of the total staff, and happily added that the establishment will also offer fresh sushi. Finally, Food City welcomes the public to attend the open house and opening day fun.
