In an initiative to pay tribute to fallen veterans, the Jasper Regional History Museum collaborated with the Marion County Extension Office placing flags at their graves.
Acquiring 138 flags, the museum selected Pine Grove Cemetery on Valley View Highway as the site for this commemorative gesture. On November 9, 4-H honors students and parents joined forces with the Museum to place the flags in preparation for Veterans Day last Saturday.
A special acknowledgment is owed to Beth Jordan, who diligently surveyed the graveyard to identify the locations of veterans’ graves and strategically mapped out the cemetery, expediting the process of placing flags.
