The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum will be hosting its annual Christmas Dinner Train event starting Friday, November 7 until January 3. Starting on Friday, November 21 and lasting until Saturday, January 17, the Chattanooga Zoo will be hosting its Asian Lantern Festival every Wednesday night through Sunday night, with additional dates to be included for the holidays. A Haunted House will be held on Saturday, December 6 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hales Bar Dam & Marina dedicated to supporting the Marion County Sherriff’s Department’s Christmas for Kids program. Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting two Sobriety Checkpoints on Thursday, December 11 on Valley View Highway at Coppinger Cove Road, and on Christmas Day on State Highway 156 at the Shelby Rhinehart Bridge. Both checkpoints will be conducted at 9 p.m. and are contingent upon manpower and weather conditions.
Jasper’s first ever Christmas in a Small Town event will be held Saturday, December 13 starting at 2 p.m. on Courthouse Square. The annual Christmas Parade will coincide with the event, beginning at 6 p.m. Fireworks are to also go off at 8 p.m. The public is invited to participate.
A Christmas Concert is scheduled to be held Saturday, December 13 at 7 p.m. The concert will take place at the Kimball Tabernacle of Praise and will feature 12 different musicians performing live.
