Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting two Sobriety Checkpoints on Friday, October 3 on State Route at Pocket Road, and on Friday, October 24 on State Highway 27 at Tanner Trail. Both checkpoints will be conducted at 9 p.m. and are contingent upon manpower and weather conditions.
A City-Wide Yard Sale will take place in South Pittsburg on 4th and 5th Streets on Cedar Avenue from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will be hosted on Saturday, October 4.

The annual Halloween Market will be hosted on Saturday, October 4 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in downtown Jasper. All are welcomed to attend and can dress up in their favorite costumes. The Southern Outlaw Dragboat Association (SODA) will be hosting the Outboard Nationals-Thunder on the Lake drag boat race on both Saturday, October 11 at 9 a.m., as well as Sunday, October 12 at 5 p.m. at Marion County Park. All are welcome to attend.
