Friends of the Library for Marion County is set to host a new Book Club at South Pittsburg’s Beene Pearson Public Library beginning Tuesday, March 3 at 5:30 p.m. For additional information, contact 423-837-6513.
Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting two Sobriety Checkpoints on Friday, March 6 at the Highway 41 cut-thru and pull off, and on Friday, March 27 on Highway 41 at Old Sand Plant. Both checkpoints will be conducted at 9 p.m. and are contingent upon manpower and weather conditions.
Sign-ups for South Pittsburg Little League Cheer will be held on Saturdays, March 7, 14, and 21 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at South Pittsburg High School. Cost for each student is $250 and $125 due at sign-ups. Ages for the program range from Pre-k to 6th Grade.
Tennessee Governor Candidate Jerri Green is to visit Marion County Saturday, March 7 at 4 p.m. at Whitwell Middle School. The public is invited to attend.

Chattanooga’s Shop the Market at The Choo Choo is scheduled for Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. CDT).
The Order of the Eastern Stars’ (OES) Bridgeport Chapter is to host a Friday Night Fish Fry on Friday, March 27 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the community’s Lodge Building on 7th Street and Alabama Avenue. Take-out will be available and $10 donations are accepted. All are welcome to attend.
On Friday, April 3, Jasper’s Extravaganza Under the Lights event will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jasper City Park on 645 Turner St. The annual Easter egg hunt will begin at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
