Carolyn Stewart Public Library will be hosting this year’s summer reading program starting Wednesday, June 4 up until its sixth week on Wednesday, July 9, with the last day concluding with a pizza party and movie. The Jasper Municipal Library Board will be holding a special-called meeting on Thursday, June 12 at 5 p.m. at Carolyn Stewart Public Library’s Community Room. The purpose of the meeting is to review and recommend a new logo design for the library. Additionally, it will also be hosting its regularly scheduled quarterly meeting on Tuesday,
Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting Sobriety Checkpoints on Saturday, June 14th at 9 p.m. on State Route 283 and 27 at the red light, as well as on Friday, June 20th at 9 p.m. on Highway 27 by Tanner Trail. Both checkpoints are contingent upon given weather conditions and manpower.
Jasper’s Big Boom is scheduled to be held on Saturday, July 5 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the ball complex on 700 Philips Avenue. The Vietnam Travelling Memorial Wall will take place on Thursday, August 14 through Monday, August 18 in Franklin County at Winchester’s City Park on 1561 Philip Fulmer Parkway. Various organizations and politicians will be hosting the memorial in dedication to those who have served our nation during the Vietnam War, including Disable American Veterans (DAV)
