Ernest “Ernie” Glenn Haskew, Jr., 62

Ernest “Ernie” Glenn Haskew, Jr. 62, of South Pittsburg (Battle Creek community), passed away on Saturday, January 20, at a healthcare facility in Chattanooga, TN. Ernie had a successful career as a self-employed horse trader.  His passion and knowledge for horses led him to participate in horse shows and sales, where he showcased his expertise in the field.  He was an avid fan of Tennessee Vols football.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family and dogs. Ernie attended church at Unity Community Church, in South Pittsburg, TN. Ernie was born on January 13, 1962, in South Pittsburg, TN to the late Ernest Glenn “Pooster” Haskew and Virginia Coppinger.  Also preceded in death, by his mother-in-law, Patricia Jean “Pat” Price.

Survivors include his loving wife, Cheri Brown Haskew, son, Jonathan (Carrie) Haskew, sisters, Connie, and Marion Ann Haskew, as well as his nieces and nephews, Chris, Kellie, Tom, Craig, Adelyn, Emma, and Abby.  He also leaves behind a host of cousins and friends who were like family.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, at 1:30 p.m. at Gilliam Cemetery in Battle Creek with Pastor George Green officiating. There will be no public visitation at the funeral home. The pallbearers will be Jonathan Haskew, Tom Schindel, Trevor Shoemake, Brady Petty, Benton Martin, and Clint Smith.
