Ella “Ruth” Gibson, 90, of South Pittsburg, TN left this walk of life on Sunday, January 7 and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She lived in South Pittsburg for many years where she enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones. She was a renowned cook and gardener. She was a devout Christian and member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who also touched many other lives.
She leaves behind so many wonderful memories to be loved and cherished. Thanks to each and everybody for all your heartfelt thoughts and prayers.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Pearl W. Walker, II, and Charles W. Gibson, Sr; parents, Jesse Thomas, and Lou Ella Owens Thomas; brothers, Walter Thomas, Frank Thomas, Gene Thomas, Clyde Thomas, and Luther Thomas; Sisters, Shirley (Thomas) Wade, Rebecca (Thomas) Warren; sons, Pearl W. Walker, III, Jimmy Dale Gibson; grandson, Charles A. Gibson.
Survivors include her son, Chuck (Mitzi) Gibson; daughters, Grace Gibson, and Rose Crouch; brothers, Billy (Anita) Thomas, and Jerry (Marie) Thomas; grandsons, Brad (Megan) Gibson, Randall (Anna) Rorex, Buster (Karen) Crouch granddaughters, Ramona Branham, Betsy (Scott) Harris; great grandson, William R (Katie) McKinney, Enrique D. Ramirez and Memphis A. Gibson and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 11 at 2 p.m. in the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Haman and Bro. Roy Gentry officiating.
Mrs. Gibson will be laid to rest beside her late husband, Charles Gibson, at the Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, TN.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11 from 12 (noon) to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service in the South Pittsburg chapel of Rogers Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Brad Gibson, Memphis Gibson, Enrique Ramirez, Dwayne Thomas, Randall Rorex, Scott Belk, and Andrew Branham.
The family would like to thank Adoration Hospice and a special caregiver Penny Hutchins for all the care given to Ruth.
