Edward Lebron Ake, 79

Edward Lebron Ake, 79, of South Pittsburg was called home on March 25.  On December 31, 1945, he was born to the late Edgar Ake and Annie Bell Rollins Ake.  Edward was a retired Fabricator/Welder for Tennessee Alloys.  A lifelong resident of South Pittsburg, he went to the Pirate restaurant for 30 years.  Edward loved socializing with friends, dancing and growing a vegetable garden.  During his working years, Edward was considered a workaholic.  After the death of his wife Violet Pearl Ake, he lived with his daughter Alexis and loved spoiling and spending time with his grandchildren, taking them to church and to Hardee’s after church.

Edward is preceded in death by his father Edgar Ake, mother Annie Bell Rollins Ake, wife Violet Pearl Ake, brother James Ake and sister Francis Ake.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters Alexis Ake, Naomi Michelle Taylor, Pamela Ann Ake, son Brett Stewart, brothers Carl Mount, Jeff Mount, Dennis Mount, Eddie “Boochie” Moore, grandchildren Raiden Stewart, Reiji Stewart, several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 28 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 29 at 12 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper with Pastor Michael Ake officiating.

Edward was laid to rest on Saturday, March 29 at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens immediately after the funeral service.

Pallbearers were Carl Mount, Jeff Mount, Dennis Mount, Eddie Moore and Brett Stewart.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Tate Funeral Home, LLC, 950 Mel Dixon Lane, Jasper, Tennessee 37347, 423-942-9500.
