Dr. Larry C Sellers, 87

Dr. Larry C Sellers, 87, of Whitwell crossed over to his eternal home Wednesday, January 10.

Dr. Sellers was born April 6, 1936 in Easley, S. C. to the late Horace E Sellers and the late Para Lee Orr Sellers. Dr. Sellers was saved and called to preach at the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Greenville, S. C. and prepared for the ministry at Tennessee Temple in Chattanooga, TN.   He dedicated his life to the church planting ministry and was instrumental in planting some twenty-one churches in TN, S.C., and AL.

Dr. Sellers was preceded in death by one unborn child, his parents, two sisters, Doris Myers and Margie Mobley of Easley, S.C., three brothers, Boyd of Greenville, S.C., Duree and Leon of Easley, S.C., one grandson Todd Holt, and a daughter in-law, Sherry Middleton Sellers.

Dr. Sellers is survived by his wife of almost sixty five years, Kate Collins Sellers, one daughter, Linda (Blake) Holt of Jasper, TN., two sons, Pastor Steve (Ann) Sellers of Jasper, TN., and James (April) Sellers of Sequatchie TN., one sister, Barbara (Sam) Orr of Blythewood, S.C. two granddaughters, Kelly (Ricky) Cox of Chattanooga, TN., and Kelicia (Jonah) Patil of Scottsboro, AL., five grandsons, Keith (Stefanie) Holt of Gruetli-Laager, TN, Brock (Gretta) Holt of Sequatchie, TN,  Kyle (Laura) Sellers of Whitwell TN., Jake (Lexi) Sellers and Brett (Erika) Sellers both of Jasper, TN.

Dr. Sellers is also survived by eleven great grandchildren, one great, great, grandchild, three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation with the family will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday January 14 at the Valley View Baptist Church, 8185 Valley View Hwy, Whitwell.

The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with Pastor Kenneth Conway and Pastor Steve Sellers officiating.

Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be the Grandsons, Keith Holt, Brock Holt, Kyle Sellers, Jake Sellers, Brett Sellers, Ricky Cox, and Jonah Patil. Honorary Pallbearers will be the men of the Valley View Baptist Church.

In Lieu of flowers the family request that an offering be made to Tabernacle Baptist Missions International, 3931 White Horse Road, Greenville, S.C. 29611-5546.
