It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we say goodbye to our mother, Dorthy Griffith.

Dorthy went home to be with her Lord and Savior and entered the gates of Heaven on June 3rd. Mrs. Dorthy had all her children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren by her side.

Even though we are sad to let her go, she is now one with God. He has always been with her throughout her life of 91 years.

She was always faithful to her faith and loved being in church. She loved giving God the glory for her beloved husband Max, as well as their loving children.

Dorthy had many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren whom she loved each one dearly.

Dorthy was very close to her sister Marie. They loved each other unconditionally.

As our Mom would say, “Love and take care of each other, don’t cry for me, I am free and forever in the arms of Jesus”.

She was preceded in death by her husband Max Griffith, daughter Maxine Floyd, Mother Rinda Slatton and brother Charles Tatum.

Survivors include her children Jean (Chester) Patterson of Harrison, TN, Donny (Bridgette) Griffith of Sequatchie, Linda (David) Bragg, of Sequatchie, Judy (Paul) Jones of Bridgeport, Al, Sue(Jr) Womack of Sequatchie, sisters Marie Pickren and Martha, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services to honor Mrs. Dorthy life were held on Thursday, June 5 at 1 p.m. in the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, with Roger Webb and Ronnie Case who officiated.
