Dorothy M. Springs, 85

Dorothy M. Springs, 85 of Whitwell was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 28.  On September 24, 1939, she was born to the late Samuel Buchanan and Willie C. Nicholson in Bridgeport, Alabama.  Dorothy was married to A. W. Springs until his death.  She was a member of Refuge Ministry Church and attended New Hope Baptist Church.  Dorothy loved working in her flowers, singing, and most of all loved her family and spending time with them.  She loved eating at family gatherings.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her father Samuel Buchanan, mother Willie C. Nicholson, husband A. W. Springs, daughter Pamela Patterson Adams, brothers Sam Buchanan, Larry Buchanan, Albert Buchanan, Daniel Buchanan, and sisters Betty Buchanan and Barbara Hudson.

Left to cherish her memories are her son Stacy Springs, daughters Terry Lynne Pickett, Karen Jones, Patricia Holliday, Connie Jones, Anita Darlene Walker, Treva Ray, sister Linda Cobb, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 2 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.

Funeral services were also held on Friday, May 2 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, with Pastor Anthony Martin who officiated.

Dorothy was laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper immediately after the funeral service.

Pallbearers were the grandsons.
