Daniel Thomas Martin, 69 of Jasper was called home on Thursday, August 28. On July 17, 1956, he was born to the late Raymond Martin and Mildred Osborn Martin in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Dan served in the United States Navy and was married to Mary Donegan. He worked for Mr. B’s Auto Sales as a mechanic. Dan always said he would never grow up. He loved building furniture and was innovative. Dan dedicated himself to his wife Mary and loved making her smile. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved his dog, Dude, as well as his grand dogs Buster and Audrey.
Dan is preceded in death by his father Raymond Martin and mother Mildred Osborn Martin.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife Mary Donegan Martin, son Gregory (Charlene) Martin, daughters Amy (Luke) Brackett and Christy (Taylor) Ford, brother James (Lisa) Cornell, sisters Lydia St. Romaine, Janine Barragone and Judith (Reginald) Kelly, grandchildren Savannah Martin, Richard Tuders, Katelyn Brackett, Grayson Ford, Matthew Brackett and Gavin Ford, several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 2 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, September 3 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.
Funeral services were also held on Wednesday, September 3 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeremy Guyselman who officiated.
Dan was laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee on Wednesday, September 3 at 1:30 p.m. ET (12:30 p.m. CDT).
Pallbearers were Greg Martin, Luke Brackett, Richard Tuders, James Donegan, Adain McCown and Owen Barnes.
