With winter nearing its end and spring to make its return this month, two events were announced to both make their return and introduction into the Marion County area.
The Marion County Cruisers are to once more hosts several cruise-in car shows throughout much of 2026, beginning on Sunday, April 25, and being held every fourth Saturday until Oct. 24. On Facebook, the organization announced each show will be hosted every fourth Saturday to better coincide with the Sequatchie Valley Cruising Tour, another cruise-in car event to be hosted this year. This allows for both events to prevent conflicting schedules with one another, giving visitors the chance to experience both events across separate times and dates.
“In the past, we met on the third Saturday, but starting this season we’re shifting forward one week,” Marion County Cruisers announced on Facebook. “We’re looking forward to another fun year with all of you.”
Also, Jasper will be the newest host for the 9th Annual CASA of the Sequatchie Valley Rodeo On Friday, May 29 to Saturday, May 30, and will held at 495 Warrior Drive. The organization made the announcement on social media, sparking excitement to residents of the community with a brand new event coming to town.
“Saddle Up, Jasper. The CASA Rodeo is riding into town,” CASA posted on Facebook.
First launched in 2017 by CASA Executive Director Margie Clemmer, the annual rodeo was founded as a fundraiser to help support the organization’s core goal of supporting abused or neglected children within the region. Since its inception nearly nine years ago and after partnering with the Outlaw Rodeo Company from nearby Georgia, the event quickly became a local favorite within the Dunlap community, attracting many near and far to the festivities it provided.
This year marks the first time in the event’s history in which it will take place in Marion County, adding itself onto the ever growing list of new and annual events which call the area home.
