Members of Jasper’s Board of Mayor & Aldermen have agreed to a contract with AirMedCare Network during the Board’s July meeting.
Mayor of Jasper Jason Turner explained how each year, the Board approves of a contract with AirMedCare Network which allows for their services to be available to all residents of the community, including emergency and life flight transportation. According to Turner, the contract provided is in the amount of $9,502, similar in price to other contracts agreed to in previous years.
When asked by Alderman Jennifer Cardin about an added upgrade and how beneficial the upgrade is for those subscribed to AirdMedCare, Turner explained the upgrade enhances the coverage of an individual by allowing AirMedCare members to receive emergency services from abroad around 40 states outside of Tennessee, with a $43 fee added to the original plan for one year of membership with the organization. It was also mentioned that all residents within a member’s household are additionally covered for any medical emergency or situation that may occur, whether it be a car accident, heart attack, or stroke. It was mentioned the Board covers all costs for countywide medical and emergency services offered under contract by AirMedCare. Mayor Turner also mentioned an additional enhancement that allows for emergency personnel to fly patients back home whilst in other states.
All members of the Board unanimously approved of this year’s contract with AirMedCare Network, once again allowing for their services to become available to all residents within Jasper.
