This 1908 postcard may be Cleavets Spring, or Cleavets may be a mineral water found here. Carolyn Millhiser once owned Lodge’s Point, for it was her great-grandfather Joseph Lodge who started Lodge Manufacturing. When Carolyn’s father, C. R. “Dick” Kellerman, was a child, the family would spend summers at Lodge’s Point. C. R. Kellerman Sr. would carry milk or bread up from the valley, depending on the signal from home-a white sheet on the line for milk or a blue blanket for bread. The Joseph Lodge extended family of children and grandchildren summered over at cottages on the point until about 1920.
