Charlotte Elaine Grimes, 82

Charlotte Grimes, 82, of Jasper, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, January 12 with family by her side. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jasper.
Charlotte worked for Southeast Tennessee Human Resource agency and was a bus driver for several years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and always loved making friends, and never met a stranger. She was loved by everyone that met her. She loved all kinds of beautiful flowers, gardening, and most of all her cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Swafford, and Mary Romines Swafford; husband, Charles Grimes; Sister, Bootsie Swafford; brothers, Clifford Swafford, and Donnie Swafford. Survivors include her son, Terry Grimes; daughter, Charla Grimes (Fredrick Branford); brother, Bufford Swafford (Carol) and Ronnie Swafford (Jean); grandchildren, Tyce Henderson, Kensley Henderson and Amari Whisnant; brother-in-law, Johnny Grimes (June), and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, January 17 at 1 p.m. in the South Pittsburg chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Steele officiating. Mrs. Grimes was laid to rest with her late husband Charles Grimes at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jasper. Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 16 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, January 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service in the chapel.
