Charles “Buddie” Hudson, 85

Charles “Buddie” Hudson, 85 of Kimball passed away on Monday, April 14 with his loving family by his side.

Buddie was an Ordained Deacon. He retired from Sequatchie Valley Electric Cooperative after working 36 years as a purchasing agent for the company.

He enjoyed listening to gospel music, spending time with his family and grandchildren.

In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was a member of Kimball Baptist Church and a member of IBEW 175 and was also a County Commissioner.

He was preceded in death by his parents Blount Hudson and Louella Hudson, brothers Grady Hudson, Melvin Hudson, sister Evelyn Hutchins and daughter Beverly Hudson Clepper.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years Bettye Drake Hudson, daughters Annetta (Dale) Swafford, Cammy Hudson Wynne, sister Jean Harris, grandchildren Justin (Michelle) Clepper, Matthew (Alex) Anthony, Morgan Wynne, Lacey (Jake) Weeks, Madison (Chase) Hamilton, six great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 17 at 1 p.m. in the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home with Brother Bruce Howland officiating.

Mr. Hudson was laid to rest at the Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Jasper.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 16 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, April 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service in the chapel.

Pallbearers were Justin Clepper, Matthew Anthony, Morgan Wynne, Chase Hamilton, Jake Weeks and Charlie Rittenberry.

Honorary Pallbearers were Johnny Matthews, Wade Clepper, Dennis Hudson and Deacons of Kimball Baptist Church.

Special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga for taking such wonderful care of him.
