At the Marion County Commissioner board meeting, the election for a new Chairperson and Vice Chairperson was held, with the board divided on both votes.
For Chairperson, Commissioners Abbott, Adkins, Blansett, Hargis, Holland, Morrison, Nunley, Rollins, and Thompson nominated Commissioner Morrison, while Commissioners Brandt, Campbell, Cantrell, Franklin, and Schafer nominated Commissioner Franklin.
The vote concluded with nine in favor of Commissioner Morrison and five in favor of Commissioner Franklin.
For Vice Chairperson, Commissioners Abbott, Adkins, Blansett, Hargis, Holland, Morrison, Nunley, Rollins, and Thompson nominated Commissioner Adkins, while Commissioners Brandt, Campbell, Cantrell, Franklin, and Schafer nominated Commissioner Campbell.
The vote resulted in nine votes for Commissioner Adkins and five for Commissioner Campbell.
