Carrie “Ann” Ridley, 88

Carrie “Ann” Ridley, 88 of South Pittsburg passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 4 with her family by her side.

Ann as she was known by her family and friends was born on September 11, 1936 to Joseph and Bessie Graham Scharer in South Pittsburg. She graduated from South Pittsburg High School and Edmondson Junior College. She enjoyed working in her yard, especially with her flowers, watching the hummingbirds, crafting, listening to music and square dancing. Ann attended Lou’s Chapel United Methodist Church in South Pittsburg.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Roy W. Ridley Sr., father Joseph “Joe” Scharer, mother Bessie Mae Scharer, sister Patty Barnes, brothers Ted and Don Scharer, one grandson, one great grandson, as well as granddaughter-in-law LeAnn Ridley. Ann will be missed by her family and friends.

Ann is survived by her four children Ramona Ridley, Teresa (Mitchell) Ladd, Reba Gail Ridley and Roy (Kim) Ridley, six grandchildren Chris (Crystal) Ladd, Arien Ladd, Lee Ridley, Colt Ridley, Rhyley (Caitlyn) Ridley and Allyson Hale (Micah Varner), six great grandchildren Micheal Ladd, Daniel (Margarita) Ladd, Gage Hubbard (Natasha), Sean Ladd, Noah Vernon and Sophie Vernon, three great-great grandchildren River and Elijah Hubbard and Ava Claire Ladd, two sisters, Sue Stephens and Reba Scharer, special family friend Mike Thomas, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 7 at 2 p.m. in the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home, with Pastor Joe Moore who officiated.

Mrs. Ann was laid to rest with her beloved husband Roy Ridley Sr. in the Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball. Visitation was held on Sunday, September 7 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service being held within the Chapel.

Pallbearers were Chris Ladd, Lee Ridley, Colt Ridley, Rhyley Ridley, Daniel Ladd, Gage Hubbard, Sean Ladd and Noah Vernon. The family of Carrie Ann Ridley would like to thank Amedisys Home Health, Amedisys Hospice caregivers Connie, Rachel and Tracy, Tina Moore for the gentle and loving care provided to our mother during her time of illness, as well as Rogers Funeral Home for their services.
