Buddy Newell Freeman, 74

Buddy Newell Freeman, 74, of Jasper, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 3.

On October 21, 1949, he was born to Neta Smith. He was married to the late Teresa Freeman. Buddy was a retired truck driver and attended Amazing Grace Chapel where he played bass guitar. Buddy enjoyed building, working on, and fixing anything he could, and was known to be a jack of all trades. He loved Teresa, his children, his grandchildren, God, and his church. Buddy is preceded in death by his mother and wife.

Left to cherish his memories are his son, Zachary Taylor Merritt; daughters, Cindy Cooksey (Clinton); Kathryn Teresa Jarrett (Jonathan), Ashley Nicole Chapa (Robie), Michele Waldrop (Freddy); grandchildren, Savannah Cooksey, Carrie Hutchins, Kylie Hutchinson, Stephen Cooksey, Bret Waldrop, Walker Hutchinson, Justin Wilson; great grandchildren, Hagen Waldrop, and McKenna Grace Mathews.

Visitation was Sunday, March 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. immediately following visitation in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, with Pastor Steve Patterson.
