The Marion County High School Marching Band halftime show is sure to be a fan favorite this year as the audience will be treated to a tribute to classic boy bands.

Steve Burdick, director of the Marion County High School Band, said his squad has just emerged from two weeks of band camp where they were busy sweating and hammering out their show for the coming marching season. The 46-member band will feature “Larger than Life” which will be a “boy band show” featuring music from the Jonas Brothers, BTS, Back Street Boys and N*SYNC.

Songs in the show will include “Bye, Bye, Bye” and “Larger Life” from the name of the show as well as other hits. The band will march about three numbers at the opening game before putting the entire show out for “public consumption” later in the season.

Burdick said there will be many visuals that will wow the crowd this year.

“It’s going to be an exciting show,” the director said. “If you’re older like me, in your 40s and 50s, you’ll remember this from your younger days. Even the “Mic Drop” from BTS is pretty contemporary. It’s something for everybody.”
