Body found update from Monteagle PD

On October 30, Monteagle Police Department released the following statement regarding the female body found in a restaurant parking lot:

Many have asked for an update on the Mi Casa homicide.

On 10/8/2023 around 0730 hours, a Monteagle Police Officer responded to the Mi Casa restaurant regarding a female lying in the parking lot. Upon arrival, it was determined that a young female had been shot and killed.

The female was identified as 14 year old Nahomi Hernandez, of Honduras in Central America. After the scene was secured, the 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office was called to respond to the scene along with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation as well as other agencies that helped with this investigation.

It is still considered a very active investigation. Anyone with any information regarding the death of Nahomi would be greatly appreciated. Contact 1-800-TBI-FIND (1-800-824-3463) with any information.
