A woman was found dead in the parking lot of Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant in Monteagle on Sunday morning. The restaurant is located near the Franklin and Marion County line leading to an investigation of her death by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
The woman’s name had not been released as of press time. However, the TBI put out a statement concerning the unattended death.
“At the request of 12th Judicial District Attorney General Courtney Lynch, TBI special agents are working alongside the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the circumstances leading to the death of a female whose body was found in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 1200 block of West Main Street in Monteagle on Sunday morning.”
The woman’s body has been taken for autopsy and investigators have not revealed a cause of death.
